Mocha, Yemen: Six missiles struck the port in the strategic Red Sea city of Mocha on Friday, according to a local Yemeni government official quoted by AFP.
The official said the missiles targeted the port but did not identify who launched them or provide further details about the circumstances of the attack.
The development came a day after the Iran-backed Houthi movement said it had taken control of Mocha airport as part of a wider offensive against forces aligned with Yemen’s internationally recognised government.
Houthi-affiliated media also reported that Saudi Arabia had carried out two strikes targeting the airport. The claim could not be independently verified.
The latest developments come amid continuing tensions around Yemen’s Red Sea coast and the strategically important Bab al-Mandab maritime corridor.
