Cairo:Prof. Dr. Nahla El-Saeedi, Adviser to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar for International Students and Head of the Center for Developing Education for International and Foreign Students at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, received Dr. Ahmed Azwar Abu Al-Azaim, a member of the Advisory Committee for Islamic Subjects at Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Education and a member of the Fatwa Committee of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU).
The meeting discussed ways to expand opportunities for Sri Lankan students to benefit from Al-Azhar scholarships, admission opportunities, and educational programs. The two sides also addressed challenges facing Sri Lankan students and educational institutions and explored ways to overcome them, as well as opportunities to benefit from Al-Azhar’s expertise in developing curricula and educational programs.
Dr. Nahla El-Saeedi affirmed that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, under the leadership of Grand Imam Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, places great importance on supporting Islamic educational institutions in various countries and strengthening cooperation with them.
She highlighted Al-Azhar’s efforts to contribute to the advancement of Islamic and Arabic education and to open broader opportunities for students to benefit from Al-Azhar’s academic and educational expertise.
