Cairo:Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad Dr. Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul. The discussions focused on ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Egypt and Germany, as well as the latest developments in the Middle East.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two foreign ministers welcomed the significant progress achieved in Egyptian-German relations across various fields in recent years. They expressed their desire to continue joint efforts during the coming period to further develop bilateral ties and expand cooperation in line with the shared interests of the two countries and the depth of their existing partnership.
Regarding regional developments, the two sides stressed the need to intensify efforts to reduce escalation and contain tensions in the region. They also emphasized the importance of maintaining the security of navigation in the Red Sea and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of international trade, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The two foreign ministers further underlined the importance of coordinated regional and international efforts to support diplomatic solutions. They said strengthening diplomatic efforts could help prevent the conflict from spreading further and contribute to containing tensions, with the aim of restoring regional security and stability.
