New Delhi – Delhi Police has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the Congress party to hold a rally at Ramlila Ground in the national capital, according to DCP Central Delhi Rohit Rajbir Singh.
Singh said that Ramlila Maidan, CBD Ground and Burari Ground have been designated as sites for demonstrations. He explained that the Congress party had first approached the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to check the venue’s availability.
According to the DCP, the MCD confirmed that the ground would be available from October 25 to November 3. Following the issuance of the venue availability certificate, the Congress party approached Delhi Police for the required clearance.
“After interacting with them and understanding the security arrangements required, we decided to grant them the No Objection Certificate (NOC). We issued it today,” Singh said.
He added that the party would now submit the certificate to the MCD, the agency responsible for the land, and proceed with preparations for the rally. The ground is scheduled to be booked for the period from October 25 to November 3.
Singh also noted that other stakeholders or organisers seeking to book the venue could follow the same procedure.
