Al-Azhar, Malaysia Discuss Arabic Education Cooperation

Prof. Dr. Nahla El-Saeedi, Adviser to the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar for International Students and Head of the Center for Developing Education for International and Foreign Students at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, received Prof. Dr. Al-Hajj Suleiman Ismail, Director of the Institute of Arabic Language Studies at Malaysia’s USIM University, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting focused on the needs of Al-Azhar institutes for teaching Arabic in Malaysia and ways to strengthen academic and educational cooperation between the two sides.

The discussions covered possible support from Al-Azhar to meet the institutes’ needs, as well as the development of educational programs and curricula in line with modern teaching methods. The two sides also discussed exchanging academic and educational expertise, faculty members and students, teacher-training programs, and providing support and care for Malaysian students studying at Al-Azhar.

Dr. Nahla El-Saeedi emphasized that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, under the leadership of Grand Imam Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, places great importance on teaching the Arabic language, describing it as a key to understanding Islamic culture and human civilization.

She also highlighted Al-Azhar’s commitment to supporting international students, developing their academic and cultural abilities, and strengthening communication and cooperation among peoples through education and knowledge.
